Synagogue Swine Flu Guidelines Issued

| September 23, 2009

(IsraelNN.com) With an eye to increased attendance at services during the upcoming holiday season, Dr. Eitan Chai-Am, Director-General of the Health Ministry issued instructions on Thursday for ways to minimize the spread of the H1N1 swine flu virus at synagogues.

People who don’t feel well should not go to synagogue.

Those who go should not engage in the custom of kissing holy objects like Torah and Holy Ark covers.

Synagogues should be equipped with soap and paper towels. Cloth towels that stand to be used by a lot of people should be avoided.
