Teen arrested after carjacking at Fort Worth church

FORT WORTH — A 15-year-old boy was in custody Tuesday, accused of driving a stolen vehicle that had been carjacked Sunday morning at a church parking lot.Police were also trying to determine whether the teen was the one who shot the vehicle's owner.The boy was in the Tarrant County juvenile detention center, facing a charge of juvenile delinquent theft. A 14-year-old girl who was with the boy when he was detained Monday was released to her mother.

Police did not identify the teens because they are juveniles.

They were stopped about 10:45 a.m. Monday after police saw a vehicle that matched the description of the one stolen Sunday morning from the parking lot of Iglesia Ni Cristo Church of Christ at 5420 Anderson St.A 36-year-old man told police that he drove into the parking lot and was approached by a male who ordered him out of the vehicle and then shot him. A few seconds later, the assailant got into the vehicle and drove away.
