Thieves Stole From Church Collection

| February 25, 2011

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Who would stoop so low to steal from a church? It happened at two churches, and at one of the churches, they stole cash from the church collection basket.

On the same Sunday, police said three women committed thefts at Dunwoody Baptist Church and at North Springs United Methodist Church in Sandy Springs.

Lt. Steve Rose of the Sandy Springs Police Department said the women dressed in their Sunday best to disguise themselves as churchgoers. "The assumption is no one would come into a church and steal," Lt. Rose said. "But in fact, the opposite is true."
