Third church fire in past month

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN 9-TV) – Fire investigators think arson may be the cause of a fire at a church early Friday morning. The fire started just after 12:00am at the Northwest Community Friends Church on La Canada, south of Orange Grove Rd.

Northwest Fire Department officials tell KGUN 9 On Your Side the blaze started in the front entry way of the church and caused extensive damage. No word on a total damage estimate.

No injuries have been reported.

This is the third church fire on the northwest side of Tucson this month. The other two fires occurred at Flowing Wells Baptist Church near Wetmore and Romero and Northwest Alliance Church at Wetmore and Flowing Wells.
