PARAMUS — A Lodi teen arrested in connection with two arsons at Bergen County synagogues was apprehended late Monday after the ingredients in the Molotov cocktails he allegedly produced were tracked to a Saddle Brook Wal-Mart.

Anthony M. Graziano, 19, faces nine counts of attempted murder for the Jan. 11 firebombing of a Rutherford synagogue and additional charges related to an arson at a Paramus temple one week earlier.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said at a press conference Tuesday that Graziano allegedly combined Crush soda bottles, low-grade motor oil, duct tape and hairspray and used the homemade explosives to terrorize synagogues chosen for no other reason than that he could get to them by bike.

"There is no connection between him and the rabbi or the rabbi's family," Molinelli said. "He simply Googled area synagogues, obviously taking into consideration that he would probably be utilizing his bicycle to get there, probably choosing synagogues in more residential areas."
