Toys collected for children stolen from Georgia church

| October 14, 2010

The pastor of a Glynn County church says he doesn't know why thieves would break into the building, but two burglaries were reported at the church in a matter of days.

Arco United Methodist Church reported a burglary last week, with thieves taking DVD players.

In a second break-in, burglars took crayons, toothbrushes, toys and other items collected to send overseas to impoverished children for Christmas.

Church member Janice Westberry says church members had been working for two months to collect items for children.

Pastor George Herndon says all he'd have to say to the burglars is that he'd be glad for them to come to church on Sunday.
