HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) – Officials say he shot one man at a place of worship.
75-year-old Boss Saylor faced a jury in a Harlan County courtroom.
Prosecutors will argue Saylor shot Clifford Napier outside the Pine Flat Baptist Church last fall and then ditched the weapon.
In the opening statements, the Commonwealth’s Attorney and defense attorney gave different stories of what happened on September 19th of last year.
The commonwealth’s attorney says Saylor shot Napier for no reason. The defense attorney says Saylor shot in self-defense.
Boss Saylor is charged with attempted murder, assault, and tampering with physical evidence.
