Two Juveniles Arrested In Palo Cedro Church Vandalism

| October 8, 2010

Shasta County Sheriff's deputies believe they have arrested the two teen suspects behind several burglaries and at least one vandalism in the Palo Cedro area.

Two juveniles, 16 and 17, were arrested in connection with the Monday vandalism of the Palo Cedro Community Church. Charges include felony vandalism and burglary.

The two teenagers were contacted by Shasta County Sheriff's Deputies Wednesday near Mel Mar Drive and Maynard Road in Palo Cedro. One was arrested then for possessing narcotics.

But when an officer noticed the two teens had stolen property from a recent burglary, deputies opened a formal investigation.

Eventually, both suspects confessed to the burglary and felony vandalism at Palo Cedro Community Church to Detective Brian Jackson, according to a Sheriff's office press release.

They also admitted to vandalizing Frontier Communication.

One teen has been charged with felony vandalism and burglary; the same charges are pending for the other suspect.
