BUFFALO — A Riverton woman was arrested Thursday for allegedly embezzling over $160,000 from a Buffalo church.

Deborah A. Moore, 46, of the 1200 block of Stanton Airport Road, was employed at Fountain of Life United Methodist Church. She took the money between October of 2009 and December of 2010, a press release from the Buffalo-Mechanicsburg Police Department said.

Police Chief William Hill said Moore made checks payable to herself and forged church leaders’ signatures. The money was deposited in personal accounts or used to pay off personal credit cards, he said.
