A Richmond woman has been arrested on a warrant for charges alleging that she stole and forged checks from a local church's bank account.

Breanna N. McIntosh, 23, of 241 Pearl St. in Richmond was arrested Wednesday on two counts of forgery (Class C felony) and one count of theft (Class D felony). She was released Thursday from Wayne County Jail after making an initial court appearance.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, McIntosh admitted to police that she and her boyfriend, Michael Tucker, had taken checks from his grandmother's home.

Tucker told police the checks from Original Church of God were stolen from TomElla Mason, his grandmother and a member of the church, the documents said. Mason reported items stolen from her purse in January and identified Tucker as the suspect.
