Woman in serious condition after being stabbed in church office

Police are looking for a woman suspect after another woman was stabbed and bitten at a Scarborough church Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the suspect walked into the victim's office and stabbed her in the neck at New Life Ministries at 3638 Lawrence Ave. E. around 1:45 p.m. The victim, who was also bitten in the left hand, was taken to Sunnybrook hospital in serious condition.

Police found a cut phone cord, blood and a knife in the church.

The attacker fled the scene.

Police searched the area, including the suspect's apartment, but couldn't find her.

"We do have a name of the suspect," Const. Tony Vella said. "We're looking for anyone with any information to come forward. We're still looking for the suspect."

The suspect is black, 31 years old, 5'6" tall, 100 pounds.
