Woman robbed in church foyer

| January 22, 2012

At approximately 0900 hours this morning (21st January 2012) an 85 year old lady was robbed of her purse by an unknown male party inside the foyer of the Ukrainian Church located at 40 Notre Dame Blvd in Sudbury. The elderly victim was violently shoved up against the church doors and then onto the ground causing a significant cut above one of her eyes. The victim suffered other injuries which are deemed minor in nature.

Greater Sudbury Police responded to this call and located a stolen 2009 White Ford F-150 with a white cap on the rear box; this vehicle was reported stolen just prior to the robbery from the parking lot of the Toronto Dominion Bank located at the intersection of Durham Street and Elm Street. Investigators believe that the male party who stole the white Ford F-150 is the same male party who robbed and injured the elderly female of her purse.
