An Easpointe woman is accused of being “super drunk” at a Hazel Park church after police say she drove there and assaulted a female employee.
Shelley Kellner, 50, is charged in Hazel Park 43rd District Court and faces a pretrial hearing next week.
Police said Kellner had a blood-alcohol level of 0.32 percent – nearly four times the legal limit for driving – when they arrested her May 28 at the Landmark Community Church 24520 N. Chrysler Dr.
“She apparently drove to the church looking for a man she thought either worshiped or worked at the location,” said Hazel Park Police Chief Martin Barner. “It was something about a vehicle or somebody owed her money, but it was never made clear.”
Kellner entered the church shortly after 1 p.m. and had contact with a woman who works there, police said.
She asked for a man by name, but the employee told Kellner there was no such person there, police said.
“The employee asked the suspect to leave several times,” Barner said. “The suspect became more agitated and erratic and refused to leave.”
