ZANESVILLE — A Zanesville man will appear in Muskingum County Court for a bond hearing this morning after being charged with the attempted murder of a woman at the First Church of God on Newark Road.

Muskingum County Prosecutor Michael Haddox said Kerron Anthony Brantley, 25, of Princeton Avenue, was charged Thursday with one count each of attempted murder, a first-degree felony; felonious assault, a second-degree felony; breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony; possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony; and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.

He’s set for a bond hearing at 9 a.m., but his case likely will be presented to a Muskingum County grand jury next week.

Haddox said Brantley faces up to 16 years in prison if indicted and later convicted on the charges.
